Paris Organizing Team
The organising team of the Paris Congress proudly granted to Lawyers Without Borders France 100%
of the money collected from the participants to the raffle which was organized during the Congress
with the support of RAIL EUROPE. This operation demonstrates, if need be, how the AIJA members can

Working session: “Is your Property defect proof?”
The working session “Is your Property Defect Proof” was a joint venture between the Environmental
Law Commission, the Real Estate Commission and the Private Clients Commission. From the start we
asked ourselves, from our specific legal areas which problems we keep running into when representing
our clients in real estate transactions. The next question was, whether these problems were somehow

First AIJA Congress
As the Thalys (the high-speed train which takes you from Rotterdam to Paris in just about the same
time it takes for you to check-in and board a flight at any of the larger airports) approached the city of
light, we were discussing the upcoming week. We were not quite sure what to expect, although we
had both been to AIJA events before (most notably the M&A seminar in Munich in 2007), and therefore
